Taylor Swift Sends 'Folklore' Cardigan to Kobe Bryant's Daughter

July 26, 2020

To celebrate the release of her latest album Folklore, Taylor Swift has been sending cardigans to fans. One lucky recipient was Kobe Bryant's daughter, Natalia Bryant.

The cardigans, inspired by the single "Cardigan" off of Swift's eighth studio album, resembles the one featured in the music video for the song.

The album, Folklore, was released in a surprise move by Swift after announcing on Instagram Thursday, July 23rd that fans should expect the album at midnight. She revealed that she recorded the album while quarantined during the coronavirus pandemic.

Natalia, a longtime fan of Swift, took to her Instagram stories to thank the "Lover" singer for the gift. "Thank you SO much @taylorswift. I am obsessed with folklore," she wrote.

NME reports that Swift has been a friend of the Bryant family for years.

Natalia's mother, Vanessa Bryant, took to her own page with her gratitude for Swift's gift. Vanessa's page is private, and the post can only be seen by her followers.

In late January of this year, Kobe Bryant died in a horrific helicopter crash that took the lives of 8 others, including Kobe and Vanessa's 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Upon learning the news, Swift shared a tribute to those involved in the crash, saying, "Kobe meant so much to me and to us all. Sending my prayers, love, and endless condolences to Vanessa and the family and anyone who lost someone on that flight," NME reports.

In 2015, Kobe joined Taylor Swift on stage at the Staples Center during her Los Angeles stop on the 1989 world tour.
